Revenue Share

Definition

A payment model where the filmmaker receives a percentage of the revenue their film generates on a platform. Revenue share is common in AVOD (ad revenue split) and TVOD (transaction percentage). The split varies by platform and deal type, typically ranging from 50% to 70% to the filmmaker.

Example

On Apple TV, filmmakers typically receive 70% of each rental transaction. On Tubi, the ad revenue split is often 50% to the filmmaker.
